On the way to the GR34
It is impossible to go to Saint-Cast-le-Guildo without taking the famous GR34. It extends over more than 2,000 km, starting from Mont-Saint-Michel in Normandy and ending in Saint-Nazaire in Loire-Atlantique. If you like walking, you will be served. Choose your direction, bring your guidebook and let yourself be guided to the discovery of the most beautiful Breton pearls.
Discover the Emerald Coast by sea
There is nothing better to take a breath of fresh air than to be able to walk facing the sea, with breathtaking landscapes. By accessing the Sentier des Douaniers from your campsite, take the direction of Saint-Brieuc and you will almost never leave the coast. On your way, you will go along the dike in St-Cast, taking a little height to admire the view on the port and the bay of Guildo and, a little further, the Fort La Latte. Continuing the itinerary, two “Capes” to pass: Cape Fréhel and Cape Erquy ! Cliffs, wild coast, lighthouse, panorama, creeks: you will be amazed. Then, if you wish to continue the walk, push to the Pink Granite Coast. Still following the sea on the path, you will reach Saint-Brieuc before joining Paimpol, Plougrescant, Perros Guirec and its rocks of all shapes, its lighthouse and obviously, its transparent waters.
Of course, even for the most experienced, you will need several days to complete this course. But we know it’s worth it! To your sticks and your shoes!
Saint-Cast-le-Guildo between Land and Sea
Many circuits exist on the commune of Saint-Cast. With its 18 km of beaches and its countryside, it is the perfect playground for hiking lovers. Visit the resort thanks to the marked trails from 3 km to 15 km and discover all its secrets.
- For a walk in the open sea, choose the yellow circuit “From the Pointe de Saint-Cast” or the light blue “Circuit du Guildo”. Both will take you along the coast to the North and East of St-Cast to the Pointe de la Corbière, the Sémaphore, the Baie de l’Arguenon and the plage des 4 Vaulx.
- For those who are more interested in culture and history, the “St-Cast/Matignon” and “Pen Guen – La Cour” tours will lead you to the monuments of the resort: wash houses, chapel, mills or the neo-Gothic church and the presbytery.
- Finally, for those who are crazy about nature, wide open spaces and the countryside, take the “Tro Breizh” circuit and immerse yourself in the heart of the Rance Valley, follow the Guébriand Valley for a green walk.
